How It All Began – A Foodie’s Journey to Entrepreneurship
As passionate food lovers, we’ve always enjoyed exploring new dining spots. But everything changed the day we visited Chennai Maratha in Sector 15, Chandigarh. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away—not just by the food, but by the entire experience. The service was warm and attentive, the staff genuinely cared, and the atmosphere was inviting. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was bursting with bold, authentic flavors and beautifully presented. It was clear that authenticity was Chennai Maratha’s true strength—and that struck a chord with us. We instantly knew: this is how we want to enter the food industry. Motivated and inspired, we reached out to the founders to explore a franchise opportunity, and the rest is history. In January 2023, we proudly launched our first outlet in Ambala. Since then, we’ve grown to successfully operate three thriving locations:

From a Weekend Trip to a Thriving Business in Pathankot – Our Chennai Maratha Story
In August 2022, Divya and I took a casual weekend trip to Chandigarh. Little did we know that a simple hangout would change the course of our lives. A local friend recommended we try Chennai Maratha for its authentic South Indian food. Having lived in the South for five years, I was skeptical—until I took my first bite. The flavors were rich, bold, and deeply authentic—something I hadn’t tasted since returning to Punjab.
That meal awakened something in me. It wasn’t just food—it was nostalgia, satisfaction, and joy all on one plate. Right then and there, I made a decision: this taste deserves to be shared with the people of my hometown, Pathankot.
The very next day, I arranged a meeting with Mr. Rajesh, the founder of Chennai Maratha. Hearing his journey—from starting with a small cart in Sector 15 to building a beloved brand in just a few years—was incredibly inspiring. His story was powered by passion, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to authentic flavor. I was deeply moved and convinced him to let me bring Chennai Maratha to Pathankot.
We opened our first outlet on 18th November 2022 in a cozy 500 sq. ft. space. Mr. Rajesh personally guided us through every detail for the first 10 days, ensuring we launched with the same high standards the brand is known for. His belief that “first impressions last” shaped everything we did.
From day one, the response was beyond anything we imagined. The people of Pathankot welcomed us with open arms—and full hearts. Within just four months, due to overwhelming demand, we relocated to a much larger space. Today, we proudly operate one of the largest Chennai Maratha outlets, with over 3,000 sq. ft. of vibrant dining space.
What started as a spontaneous food discovery has turned into a fulfilling entrepreneurial journey. Thanks to the unwavering support from the Chennai Maratha team, we’ve not only built a business, we’ve built a community. And we’re just getting started.
